Bull Dempsey, whose real name is James Smith, is a retired American professional wrestler. He was born on April 20, 1988, in Asbury Park, New Jersey. Dempsey began his wrestling career in 2005 and competed in various independent promotions before signing with WWE in 2013.
He made his WWE debut in NXT in 2014, where he portrayed a tough, brawler character known as Bull Dempsey. He gained a significant following and had feuds with top NXT stars such as Baron Corbin and Tye Dillinger.
Dempsey was released from his WWE contract in 2016 and subsequently returned to the independent wrestling circuit. He continued to compete in promotions such as EVOLVE and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla before retiring from in-ring competition in 2019.
Since retiring from wrestling, Dempsey has transitioned to a career in coaching and training aspiring wrestlers in Florida. He is known for his dedication to the sport and his larger-than-life personality both in and out of the ring.
